Remodeling contractor for Seattle, the Eastside & King County.
Go Far Construction is headquartered in Lynnwood, minutes north of the King County line, and has spent 12+ years remodeling and building across the county — Seattle’s craftsman blocks, Eastside neighborhoods from Kirkland to Issaquah, and the south end through Renton and Burien.
King County is really several remodeling markets in one. Seattle is craftsman bungalows, post-war boxes, and mid-century view homes — full of character and full of surprises behind the walls. The close-in Eastside — Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Mercer Island — pairs some of the strongest home values in the state with 1960s–80s ranches and split-levels that have not been touched in decades. Sammamish, Issaquah, and Duvall add ’90s–2000s family plats ready for their first big remodel, while Shoreline, Kenmore, Renton, Newcastle, and Burien remain the county’s best-value markets for mid-century homes worth investing in. Across all of it, Seattle’s ADU-friendly rules and HB 1337 mean most lots can now host up to two accessory dwelling units.
Go Far Construction is a family-owned, licensed Washington general contractor — owners on every project, itemized written pricing that holds, permits handled with the right jurisdiction (Seattle DCI, each city’s own permit office, or King County Permitting), and job sites left clean at the end of every day. Estimates anywhere in King County are free, and we reply within one business day.
What we build across King County
King County questions
Do you serve all of King County?
Yes. Go Far Construction is headquartered in Lynnwood, minutes north of the King County line, and we remodel and build across the county — Shoreline, Kenmore, and Bothell in the north end, Seattle, the Eastside cities of Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Woodinville, Sammamish, Issaquah, and Duvall, and south through Mercer Island, Newcastle, Renton, and Burien. If your city is not listed, ask — the answer is usually yes.
What does a remodel cost in King County?
It depends on scope. Across King County, most full kitchen remodels land between roughly $45,000 and $110,000 and most full bathroom remodels between about $20,000 and $60,000. Seattle’s older housing stock and Eastside view lots tend to sit toward the upper half of those ranges, with layout changes, cabinet grade, and finish level moving the number most. Every Go Far estimate is itemized and written, so you can see exactly where each dollar goes.
Who handles permits, and do the rules differ by city?
We do — and yes, they differ. Seattle projects go through the Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections, each Eastside and south-end city runs its own permit office, and unincorporated areas go through King County Permitting. We prepare the application for the right jurisdiction, include fees in your itemized price, and meet every inspector on site.
Can I build an ADU or backyard cottage on my King County lot?
In most cases, yes. Seattle has some of the most ADU-friendly rules of any big city in the country — up to two accessory dwelling units per residential lot, no owner-occupancy requirement, and no added parking in most cases — and Washington’s ADU law (HB 1337) requires the county’s other cities inside urban growth areas to allow up to two ADUs per lot as well. We check your specific lot’s zoning, setbacks, and utilities as part of a free feasibility conversation.
